Let it SNOW

Well...Washington state "finally" gets snow and everything is at a g-darn standstill.

Allow me to explain:
EVERYONE complains about the weather here. It doesn't rain as often as people complain about. Maybe average 155 days a year. It DOES INDEED snow in Washinton, but people are mad that it doesn't snow during Christmas. Poor Mother Nature...how dare you NOT conform to the Christmas season by refusing to snow on the birthday of Jesus! I mean...WHAT THE HELL, DUDE?

But now that it's snowing (and we are in for more!), people are pissed. Righteously pissed. Shaking-their-fists-at-Heavens pissed. No one was prepared for this "winter storm" even though it was in the news for a week before the damn weather pattern hit. People are stranded, cars have been abandoned up and down the I-5 corridor...cats and dogs living together...TOTAL ANARCHY over 3 inches of ice and snow. Yes, Spokane got 19.4 inches in 24 hours...and they are special...and lucky. Schools and businesses are closed. Buses are running late late late. Hey, even my work is affected! I don't have to go today because they postponed Friday Night Live for next week...and I don't work next friday! HAZZAH!

What am I doing? I'm staying warm in my apartment with mugs of coffee, a warm kitty in my lap, fiddling on the internet, and plotting/scheming over costume ideas for Sakura Con. Dot Warner...can I do it without making it look like I didn't even try? *LOL* We shall see! I need to get in touch with Ritsuko and Plude about finishing Jessica from DragonQuest 8. I was actually learning how to make a corset! Still need a wig for that costume...but nice looking orange wigs are very difficult to come by.

Lots of photos just sitting on my computer and I have a tendancey to carry my camera everywhere I go. Time to make use of it all and show off my love for photography! If I had a scanner, I would scan my portfolio that I started in high school. ALl those wonderful balck & white studio portraits of my friends...the 2ft by 4 ft post of my friend Bert..the still life projects involving my Pinky and Brain doll. God, I miss high school.

Ok...not really missing high school...but missing the photo lab there. I could roll my own film, develope my own film, and print my own photos! So much fun! 3 hours a day 5 days a week...heaven. Pure artistic heaven!

In other news: I want a new camera so darn badly! A new digital SLR...all the instant gratification of digital with all the control of an SLR film camera! *drool* I also want to look into video cameras. I'm thinking of video blogging...although, I'm more inclined to ramble on with "um" and "you knows" more than I'd care to admitt. OH WELL! XD Maybe having a video blog would teach me NOT to "um" my way through a conversation!

I cannot STOP listening to Viva La Vida by Coldplay.

I bought Chrono Trigger for the Nintendo DS..still my favorite game of all time!
